Keratoconus
Keratoconus
Keratoconus is a condition affecting the cornea, where it thins and becomes irregular.
Normally shaped like a dome, the cornea takes on a cone-like form, leading to blurred and distorted vision. While glasses can often correct the distortion in the early stages of the condition, their effectiveness diminishes as keratoconus progresses.
At Adams Eyecare, we offer specialized contact lenses designed to address the astigmatism and nearsightedness caused by keratoconus. These lenses help restore clearer vision! For milder cases where glasses are no longer effective, we evaluate patients and provide custom-made soft contact lenses to correct the distortion. As the condition advances, custom-fitted rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses are necessary to achieve the best vision correction, a service we specialize in providing.
